Poetic Verse

If we strip away the layers of illusion
What is left behind?
The sandy shores, The wooden floors
A pocket watch found
Waiting on a dime
Will we ever find the way
Living life every day
Listening to the faded calls
Will the towers fall
If we turn and walk away
For the fireflies shall glisten
Beneath the stars tonight
As I walk beside the evening tide
Will the essence of my heart
Be the guiding light that shines
Take the time to live for the moment
Not just day to day
